The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, according to the publication calendar, presents the Balance of Payments statistics for June 2025.

Balance of payments – as of the end of June 2025 was characterized by a current account deficit of 803.01 million euros, which shows an increase of 18.78% compared to the same period last year. The increase in the current account deficit is mainly due to the increase in the trade balance deficit.

Trade balance – in goods as of the end of June 2025 recorded a deficit of 2.67 billion euros, which is 19.57% higher compared to the same period of the previous year. Exports for this period recorded a value of 442.65 million euros, marking a slight decrease of 1.29%, while imports of goods recorded an increase of 16.08%, reaching a value of 3.11 billion euros.

Services account – which constantly has a positive balance, at the end of June 2025 recorded a value of 740.96 million euros, which represents a higher level of positive balance by 32.90% compared to the same period last year.

Primary income – as of the end of June 2025 recorded a positive balance of 152.97 million euros, which in the same period last year was worth 56.71 million euros and shows an increase of 169.74%.

Secondary income – remain the main contributor to the mitigation of the current account deficit. At the end of June 2025, this account recorded a positive balance of 970.25 million euros, which represents an increase of 3.18% compared to the same period last year.

Remitances – are the main category within secondary income, the value of which as of June 2025 marked 654.70 million euros, which represents an increase of 3.91% compared to the same period in 2024. Meanwhile, according to preliminary estimates, remittances for July 2025 were around 126.33 million euros, thus reaching the value of 781.03 million euros (preliminary). The largest inflows during July were also through NBFI with 51.55%, through commercial banks with 18.53% and other channels with 29.93%.

Assets in the financial account – as of the end of June 2025 have recorded a positive balance of 131.21 million euros. Meanwhile, financial liabilities – have recorded a positive balance of 725.15 million euros.

Direct investments in Kosovo – as of the end of June 2025 stood at 441.26 million euros, which represents an increase of 5.28% compared to the same period last year. On the other hand, direct investments outside Kosovo marked a significant increase, reaching 166.59 million euros, which represents an increase of 55.23% compared to the same period last year.

Reserve assets – as of the end of June 2025 recorded a positive balance of 150.23 million euros, which represents an increase of 16.90% compared to the same period last year.
