The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK), Mr. Ahmet Ismaili, accompanied by his colleagues, was received at the headquarters of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA) in Frankfurt during an official visit.

The meeting focused on recent developments in the field of insurance and pensions. Chair Ms. Petra Hielkema was briefed on the latest developments in Kosovo’s financial sector, including the legal and regulatory framework, as well as the CBK’s commitment to reforms aimed at aligning the financial system more closely with the European Union.

Discussions also covered opportunities to expand cooperation in capacity building, strengthen bilateral and multilateral engagement, and further harmonize the legal and regulatory framework as part of Kosovo’s EU integration path.

This meeting took place in the spirit of CBK’s continuous engagement with the respective financial supervisory authorities of the European Union.

Both parties expressed their readiness to continue cooperation at the technical and professional levels, reaffirming their commitment to advancing reforms that promote financial stability, further develop the insurance and pensions sector, enhance financial education, and consolidate consumer protection practices.
