The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK), Mr. Ahmet Ismaili during his stay in Washington D.C. met the Director of the European Department at the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Mr. Alfred Kammer.

Governor Ismaili has informed Mr. Kammer on the latest developments in the financial sector and the advancement of the legal and regulatory framework in order to increase the sustainability of the financial sector, the progress of the implementation of CBK activities within the framework of programs with the IMF, and ongoing technical assistance.

The discussion focused on the measures taken by the CBK to further strengthen the stability of the financial system, including the capitalization of the banking sector, new legal initiatives, and relevant technical assistance, which are expected to be implemented during the next year in accordance with the strategic plan’s objectives.

The two parties reaffirmed their commitment to continued close cooperation in order to successfully implement objectives and projects that will have a direct positive impact on the country’s financial sector and economy as whole.
