Nexhat Kryeziu

Member of CBK Board

Mr Nexhat Kryeziu is a non-executive member of the Board of the Central Bank and a member of the Audit Committee at the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo. Through an open application process, he was shortlisted and voted in by the Assembly of Kosovo, followed by a Presidential decree in July 2022.
Mr Kryeziu holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Prishtina and an MBA in Finance from the University of Sheffield. He is also a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Accountant.
Mr Kryeziu has over 20 years of experience in finance, auditing, economics and banking, in professional, managerial and supervisory positions in the financial sector and corporations of the public and private sectors in Kosovo. In 2001, he became part of the first team of banking supervisors at the Banking and Payments Authority of Kosovo (predecessor to the Central Bank). Mr Kryeziu, for a time, worked as an internal auditor at Raiffeisen Bank. From 2008-2013 he held the position of Deputy Governor for Financial Supervision at the Central Bank of Kosovo, during which time he contributed to the "Kosovarization" of financial institutions. He has also been a Member of the Audit Committee at TEB Bank and has served as Executive Director at the Non-Banking Financial Institution "Vllesa Co".
Mr Kryeziu headed the Hymeri Klemman Company (2013-2015) and served as Executive Director and Executive Member of the Public Housing Enterprise JSC (2015-2018). Also, Mr Kryeziu was the Financial Director at Pristina International Airport (2006-2008) and the Chairman of the Kosovo Financial Reporting Council (2021-2022). He headed the Finance Department at Hymeri Group SHPK, managing finances for five companies in Kosovo, Albania and Germany.
Mr Kryeziu is a professor at the University of Business and Technology (UBT), where he teaches courses in economics, financial management, international financial reporting standards, strategic management and decision analysis. He is the author of many scientific publications and articles in the fields of economics and banking.
