The Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosova (CBK), Mr. Dardan Fusha, together with his associates, held a meeting with Mr. Christian Rössler, Vice President for Banking, Lending, and Financing at Clearstream, a financial securities institution and part of the Deutsche Börse Group headquartered in Luxembourg, on the sidelines of the 2026 Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank in Washington DC.

During the meeting, participants discussed recent developments following the accession to the Clearstream financial securities institution, as well as other operational aspects that enable the safekeeping and settlement of international securities. These developments enhance mechanisms that provide additional access to liquidity and optimize collateral management using securities as collateral.

The discussion also covered the latest developments in advanced financial instruments in international and capital markets, as well as the provision of ongoing operational support, advisory services, training, and compliance assistance from field experts. In this context, possibilities for expanding the country’s Central Securities Depository infrastructure were discussed, along with alternative financing instruments within the framework of capital markets.

Deputy Governor Fusha emphasized the importance of integrating modern practices into international reserve management processes, with the aim of increasing operational efficiency and investment diversification. He highlighted the expansion of the investment mandate in the area of asset and international reserve management, through an active approach via the World Bank Treasury.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to further explore concrete opportunities for enhanced cooperation in this field, in line with the strategic objectives of the CBK.
