Within the framework of annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, which are being held in Washington, USA, Governor Mehmeti held a meeting with representatives of the New York Federal Reserve.

Governor Mehmeti informed the representatives of the Federal Reserve regarding the performance of the financial system in Kosovo, and in particular the banking sector, and emphasized the importance of this sector in supporting the country’s economic development.

Governor Mehmeti also informed the representatives of the Federal Reserve regarding the views of the Central Bank regarding macroeconomic developments in the Republic of Kosovo, as well as the role of the financial sector as a key contributor to the financing of the economy.

In the meeting it was also discussed the possibility of expanding and advancing cooperation between the two institutions in the field of asset management, as well as participation in training organized by the Federal Reserve of New York.
