In the framework of the spring meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, which are taking place in Washington, the Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Fehmi Mehmeti, met with the Deputy Managing Director of the IMF, Mr. Bo Li, with whom were discussed recent macroeconomic developments in Kosovo, with particular emphasis on the stability of the financial sector and advanced developments in this sector.

Governor Mehmeti congratulated the Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund on his position and thanked this institution for the continued support given to Kosovo, in this case the CBK, while the Deputy Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, Mr. Bo Li emphasized further support for the CBK in the future as well.

Governor Mehmeti also met with the Director of the European Department of the International Monetary Fund, Mr.Alfred Kammer, with whom they discussed the latest macroeconomic developments, as well as developments in the financial system of Kosovo.

While, the main topic of discussion between Governor Mehmeti and Mr. Udabir S. Das from the Department of Monetary Policy and Capital Markets of the International Monetary Fund, was the Technical Assistance provided to the CBK, as well as the provision of technical assistance in implementing the recommendations resulting from the Financial System Stability Review (FSSR). At the same time, the team of the Monetary Policy and Capital Markets Department has evaluated the implementation of some of the recommendations arising from this report.

Governor Mehmeti also held a meeting with the Mission of the International Monetary Fund for Kosovo led by Mr. Gabriel Di Bella and with the Director of our Constitution in the Fund, Mr.Daniel Palotai.

Governor Mehmeti also met with World Bank Vice President for Europe and Central Asia Ms. Anna Bjerde. In this meeting, Governor Mehmeti informed Ms. Bjerde for the latest developments in the financial system of Kosovo and thanked her for the support of the World Bank to the CBK through various projects, in order to further develop the financial system in Kosovo.

In the coming days, Governor Mehmeti will meet with other representatives of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund.
