The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK), Mr. Ahmet Ismaili, together with Deputy Governor Mr. Milot Cakaj and his associates, held a meeting with senior experts engaged by the International Monetary Fund (IMF), including Mr. Valter Borges de Araujo Neto and Ms. Rita Tam, as part of the IMF’s technical assistance mission.

During the meeting, discussions focused on the progress made in advancing the supervisory review process in accordance with the activities outlined in the roadmap approved by the CBK for the Implementation of the Supervisory Review and Evaluation Process (SREP) for banks.

Governor Ismaili emphasized the CBK’s commitment to building a strong, transparent supervisory system that aligns with the demands of a modern and integrated financial market.

On the other hand, the IMF experts commended the progress achieved by the CBK in implementing the activities foreseen in the SREP roadmap and expressed their readiness to provide further technical and advisory support in the next stages of the reform process.

Furthermore, the IMF experts praised the CBK’s dedication to institutional reforms aimed at strengthening supervisory and financial stability frameworks, as well as its efforts to harmonize with the standards and practices applied by regulatory and supervisory authorities of the European Union.

In conclusion, Governor Ismaili reaffirmed the CBK’s commitment to continuing the implementation of reform activities in line with its objectives and Strategic Plan, while also expressing gratitude to the IMF for its ongoing support.
