The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosova (CBK), Mr. Ahmet Ismaili, accompanied by the Non-executive Member of the CBK Board, Ms. Latifi-Jashari, Deputy Governor Mr. Fusha, and other associates, held a bilateral meeting with the Head of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission for Kosovo, Mr. David Amaglobeli, and his team, on the sidelines of the 2026 Spring Meetings taking place in Washington DC.

During the joint meeting with Minister Murati, held in the IMF format, Governor Ismaili briefed Mr. Amaglobeli on the latest macroeconomic and financial developments in Kosovo, with particular emphasis on the main macroeconomic and financial sector indicators, which attest to the stability and resilience of the country’s financial system. The meeting also addressed the progress made in the context of Article IV Consultation Staff Report.

Governor Ismaili highlighted the CBK’s continued commitment to implementing structural reforms, advancing and strengthening the regulatory framework, and safeguarding financial and macroprudential stability. He also emphasized the CBK’s active engagement in regional cooperative initiatives, including the IMF’s Regional Technical Assistance Center (SEETAC), aimed at harmonizing policies and exchanging international best practices.

For his part, Mr. Amaglobeli commended the constructive cooperation and partnership between the CBK and the IMF, as well as the progress made in strengthening institutional capacities. He underscored the importance of IMF support through technical assistance and praised the CBK’s continued engagement in this regard.

In conclusion, both parties emphasized the importance of maintaining close cooperation between the IMF and the CBK, acknowledging the progress achieved to date and their joint contribution to strengthening macro-financial stability and sustainable economic development in the Republic of Kosovo.
