As part of the 2026 Spring Meetings, the Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosova (CBK), Mr. Ahmet Ismaili, accompanied by the Non-executive Member of the CBK Board, Ms. Latifi-Jashari, the Deputy Governor Mr. Fusha, and other associates, held a bilateral meeting with the Vice President of the International Finance Corporation (IFC), Mr. Alfonso García Mora.

During the joint meeting held with the participation of Minister Murati, in the format of the World Bank Group, Governor Ismaili informed Mr. García Mora about the latest developments in the financial sector of the Republic of Kosovo, emphasizing the advancement of the legal and regulatory framework aimed at strengthening the resilience of the financial sector, expanding financial services, increasing access to finance, and advancing financial inclusion and consumer protection.

In particular, the parties discussed ongoing projects supported by the IFC, including the Financial Services Digitalization Project, where progress to date on key activities was highlighted in line with the action plan. They also discussed the project related to the advancement of the regulatory framework for non-bank financial institutions, as well as activities currently in progress. Additionally, the parties talked about the provision of technical assistance for the development of the financial sector in Kosovo.

For his part, Mr. García Mora highly appreciated the reforms undertaken and the cooperation to date, expressing his commitment to further expand the cooperation going forward.

In conclusion of the meeting, a shared commitment was reaffirmed to continue close cooperation in implementing existing projects and initiatives, with the aim of improving financial services, increasing access to finance, and strengthening financial inclusion in the Republic of Kosovo.
