The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK), Mr. Ahmet Ismaili, had the pleasure of meeting with the President of the World Bank Group, Mr. Ajay Banga, on the sidelines of the International Monetary Fund and World Bank 2025 Spring Meetings.

During their discussion, Governor Ismaili and President Banga commended the strong and enduring partnership between Kosovo and the World Bank, with a particular focus on the progress of ongoing projects aimed at enhancing economic resilience, financial sector development, and institutional capacity building.

Governor Ismaili welcomed the continued collaboration with the World Bank, underscoring the critical importance of technical assistance and strategic support in strengthening the central bank’s institutional capacities. He expressed deep appreciation for the World Bank’s role in advancing key reforms and capacity-building initiatives aligned with the CBK’s long-term objectives.

A key highlight of the meeting was the recognition of Kosovo’s recent status as a donor to the International Development Association (IDA) – a significant milestone that reflects the country’s growing international role and its contribution to global development efforts.

Governor Ismaili conveyed his gratitude for the World Bank’s steadfast support to the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo and reaffirmed the institution’s strong commitment to deepening cooperation in the years ahead.
