The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK), Mr. Ahmet Ismaili, together with his colleagues, held an official meeting with the Executive Director of the Slovenian Business Club in Kosovo, Mr. Bajram Fusha, and his associate.

Governor Ismaili provided an overview of the current state of the financial sector and emphasized the CBK’s commitment to maintaining financial stability, developing sustainable policies, and promoting financial literacy and inclusion.

The discussion covered the actions taken by the CBK to advance the payment system, including the expected benefits for businesses from Kosovo’s membership in the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA), as well as developments related to the project for creating an instant payments system – TIPS Clone. These initiatives were welcomed and supported by the Slovenian Business Club, which expressed interest in continued communication on these topics.

The meeting also addressed the financial sector’s regulatory framework and the current opportunities for access to finance. The need to further develop regulations to enable alternative financing channels through the capital market was highlighted, along with the importance of publicly available data on the economy and the financial sector that can be used by the public, businesses, and business associations to promote the country’s profile.

For his part, Mr. Fusha, the Executive Director of the Slovenian Business Club in Kosovo, funded by the relevant Ministry of Economy of Slovenia, presented the chamber’s activities in promoting Kosovo’s economy to Slovenian investors. He thanked Governor Ismaili for his commitment to discussing access to finance for businesses and emphasized the importance of inter-institutional cooperation in improving the investment climate, as well as the need for dialogue on public policy in the country’s interest.

This meeting is part of an ongoing effort to strengthen institutional dialogue with professional organizations and stakeholders in areas of shared public interest.
