Ahead of the conference, Governor Ismaili took part in a closed-door meeting between central bank governors from the region and beyond, and the IMF Managing Director, Ms. Kristalina Georgieva. This high-level gathering served as an important platform for exchanging views on recent economic developments and the challenges posed by global fragmentation, as well as for deepening regional cooperation. On this meeting, Governor Ismaili presented key developments and reforms undertaken in Kosovo’s financial sector and expressed gratitude for the IMF’s continued support, particularly in the successful completion of cooperation programs and the positive assessment in the recent review.

The conference brought together senior representatives of international financial institutions, central bank governors, finance ministers, academics, and private sector representatives, creating a comprehensive space for dialogue on pathways to resilient economic growth and stronger resilience in the region. Thematic discussions focused on adapting macroeconomic policies, strengthening the role of CESEE countries in the European Single Market, implementing structural reforms to enhance competitiveness and productivity, and employment and income policies in the era of artificial intelligence.

On the sidelines of the conference, Governor Ismaili held bilateral meetings with senior representatives of partner institutions, including Mr. Alfred Kammer, Director of the IMF’s European Department, as well as governors and finance ministers from various countries.

In a dedicated meeting with the host, Governor of the Croatian National Bank Mr. Boris Vujčić, Governor Ismaili expressed appreciation for the cooperation and support provided by the Croatian National Bank within the framework of the EU project on cash management reforms and combating currency counterfeiting.
