The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosova (CBK), Mr. Ahmet Ismaili, represented the Republic of Kosovo at the plenary meeting of the International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC), together with Governors from member countries of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). The meeting was held as part of the 2026 Spring Meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank.

During this high-level forum, global policymakers discussed the latest developments in the world economy, including economic growth prospects, inflation dynamics, and risks to financial stability. Discussions also covered monetary and fiscal policies, vulnerabilities in the financial sector, as well as promoting sustainable and inclusive growth.

The International Monetary and Financial Committee (IMFC) is responsible for advising and reporting to the IMF Board of Governors, playing a key role in managing and shaping the international monetary and financial system. In addition, the IMFC monitors developments in global liquidity and the transfer of resources to developing countries, reviews proposals from the Executive Board for changes to the Articles of Agreement, addresses emerging issues with potential impact on the global financial system, and advises on other matters referred by the Board of Governors.

This international forum also enables the development of bilateral meetings with Governors and representatives of financial institutions from around the world, where views are exchanged and partnerships are built to promote global financial stability.

Governor Ismaili’s participation in this session, accompanied by Deputy Governor Mr. Fusha, provided an important opportunity for engagement with global policymakers and representatives of international financial institutions on issues of common interest, including global economic outlooks and initiatives to strengthen the resilience of the financial sector.

Governor of CBK serves as the representative of the Republic of Kosovo on the IMF Board of Governors, alongside 190 other IMF members from around the world.
