The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK), Mr. Ahmet Ismaili, accompanied by Deputy Governor Cakaj, held separate meetings with the Executive Directors of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank during the 2025 Annual Meetings.

During the meeting with Mr. Yigit Yasar, Governor Ismaili presented the latest developments in the economy and financial sector, including banking and insurance supervision, macroprudential policy, payment infrastructure, financial sector digitalization, and key ongoing reforms. He thanked Mr. Yasar for the IMF’s continuous support to Kosovo.

In the meeting with Ms. Nathalie Francken, the cooperation in financial sector’s projects was highly appreciated, including Kosovo’s integration into SEPA and the development of the TIPS Clone instant payment system. Governor Ismaili expressed gratitude to Ms. Francken for the professional support and assistance provided during the implementation phase of the projects, which contribute to advancing the country’s financial system and improving services for citizens.

The CBK delegation expressed high appreciation for the cooperation at all levels and discussed in detail the projects and technical assistance, the progress of which was highly valued by the Executive Directors of the constituencies to which Kosovo belongs.

The CBK remains committed to deepening cooperation with international partners to advance financial development and strengthen institutional capacities in support of economic stability and sustainable growth.
