The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK), Mr. Ahmet Ismaili, together with his associates, held an official meeting with the President of the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce (KCC), Mr. Lulzim Rafuna, and his team.

At the beginning of the meeting, Governor Ismaili briefed Mr. Rafuna about the current developments of the financial sector, financial stability and key indicators of the financial system, as well as the CBK’s commitment to creating sustainable policies that, in addition to increasing the sustainability of the sector, promote access to finance, financial literacy and financial inclusion.

The discussion covered the actions taken by the CBK to advance the legal, regulatory, and infrastructural framework, including the upcoming process of SEPA membership and the instant payments project (TIPS Clone), initiatives that were welcomed and supported by the KCC for their positive economic impact.

In addition, both sides discussed the regulatory framework of the financial sector, current opportunities for access to finance, and the need for businesses to have an improved regulatory environment enabling alternative financing channels through the capital market. They also addressed the importance of publicly available data on the economy and financial sector that could be used by business associations to promote foreign investment. Concrete joint initiatives were identified as activities of mutual economic interest.

For his part, the President of the KCC presented the Chamber’s activities in promoting Kosovo’s economy to investors and various regional and domestic platforms, while expressing gratitude to Governor Ismaili for his dedication to discussing business access to finance and maintaining financial sector stability, one of the key pillars of the country’s economy.

The meeting is part of the ongoing institutional dialogue between the CBK and professional organizations and stakeholders in areas of shared public interest, emphasizing the importance of continued communication between the two institutions.
