The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK), Mr. Ahmet Ismaili, with his associates, welcomed in a meeting the Non-Resident Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to Kosovo, H.E. Mr. Faisal Ghazi Ismail Hifzi, who was accompanied by a delegation of the Federation of Saudi Chambers of Commerce. The visit of the delegation to CBK was part of their broader visit to Kosovo, during which they met with several selected institutions to explore the potential for investments and institutional cooperation in areas of common public interest.

At the beginning of the meeting, Governor Ismaili briefed the attendees on recent developments in the financial sector and on CBK’s commitment to maintaining financial stability, as well as creating sustainable policies that contribute to promoting financial education and inclusion.

He also informed them about the opportunities offered by the financial sector in terms of supporting investments, as well as the advantages the economy provides for foreign investments within the framework of advancing the legal and infrastructural framework in the context of European integration processes. This includes the expected benefits for businesses from Kosovo’s accession to the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) and the ongoing project of the instant payments system – TIPS Clone, as an important infrastructure for the entire economy.

For his part, Ambassador Ghazi Hifzi, who also covers Albania and several countries in the region including Kosovo, thanked Governor Ismaili for his readiness to engage in discussions with the representatives of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and expressed the commitment of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to contribute to a constructive dialogue with Kosovo’s institutions, including CBK, by promoting transparency and open communication between institutions at the regional level.

In conclusion, both parties expressed their commitment to explore opportunities for cooperation in areas of mutual interest for the economies of both countries, based on partnership and mutual understanding.
