The senior delegation of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo led by the Governor,Mr. Fehmi Mehmeti, is participating in the regular annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, which are being held in Washington, USA, which this year as well are being developed in virtual form, due to pandemic.

In the meeting held with the Vice President of the World Bank, Ms. Anna Bjerde and her team, the latest economic, fiscal and financial developments in Kosovo were discussed, as well as the challenges in the implementation of projects that are under implementation and those in the process of approval.

Governor Mehmeti will have a meeting with Mr. Sarvesh Suri, Director of Operations at the Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency – MIGA, with whom he will discuss opportunities for support in several areas.

In the regular annual meetings that are being held from October 12 to 21, Governor Mehmeti will discuss with the heads of the IMF Monetary and Capital Markets Department about the implementation of the recommendations from previous reports and the consideration of opportunities for further support.

With the team of the IMF Mission for Kosovo, the latest economic, fiscal and financial developments, this year’s and next year’s budget, as well as Article IV will be discussed.

Annual meetings organized by the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund bring together central bankers, finance and economic development ministers, parliamentarians, private sector leaders, representatives of civil society organizations and academics to discuss issues of global importance, including the global economic perspective, poverty eradication, economic development and aid effectiveness.
