The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK) reaffirmed its commitment to financial inclusion and equitable access to finance at the launch event for the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) Handbook, supported by USAID and co-organized by the Kosovo Banking Association

Delivering the keynote address, Deputy Governor Ms. Nesrin Shileku-Shala highlighted the CBK’s critical efforts in addressing financial disparities and fostering an inclusive financial system. She emphasized that improving access to finance for underserved and unserved groups, particularly women, is not only a question of fairness but also a driver of broader societal and economic progress.

Drawing from the CBK’s strategic objectives for 2024–2028, Deputy Governor Shileku-Shala emphasized the ongoing projects with international financial institutions, including initiatives aimed at addressing challenges faced by underserved and unserved groups, ensuring broad participation in Kosovo’s financial system. Her remarks reinforced the CBK’s leadership in building a resilient and inclusive economy through reforms and strategic initiatives with local and international stakeholders.
