The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Fehmi Mehmeti, has said that the technical assistance of the International Monetary Fund, through the Financial Sector Stability Review (FSSR), has had a great impact on the financial sector.

“The initial support helped us establish the main functions of our institution thereby shaping the structure of our financial system as well as its stability. Ongoing support is assisting us in strengthening our governance and technical capacities, which are necessary to face the new challenges and the increasing complexity of risks and global uncertainties”, stated Governor Mehmeti.

The IMF’s Financial Sector Stability Review (FSSR) is a capacity-building instrument that provides a diagnostic baseline, identifies key weaknesses in financial systems and institutional capacities, and develops a prioritized medium-term action plan for well-ordered financial sector reforms, and is also complemented by follow-up capacity development where it is most needed.
