The Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK), Ms. Nesrin Shileku-Shala, participated in the annual Economic and Financial Dialogue (ECOFIN) with Regional Partners, organized by the European Commission.

During this high-level meeting, Ms. Shileku-Shala presented the CBK’s views on key discussion topics, with particular emphasis on the challenges and opportunities for enhancing the competitiveness of the region’s economies in light of geopolitical developments, as well as the importance of simplifying and removing regulatory barriers to support economic growth.

The CBK welcomed the European Commission’s recognition of the progress made in implementing recommendations aimed at strengthening institutional capacities, aligning legislation with EU standards, and using macroprudential tools to safeguard financial stability.

Ms. Shileku-Shala also highlighted the opportunities offered by the European Union through its support for financial integration, digitalization, and regulatory alignment.

The CBK reaffirmed its strong commitment to the European integration process, emphasizing the need for proportionate regulatory alignment, facilitation of cross-border financial services, and reduction of administrative burdens, all with the goal of improving the investment climate and fostering economic development.
