Governor Mehmeti held a virtual meeting with representatives of the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation

Today, Governor Mehmeti held a virtual meeting with the World Bank Manager for Kosovo Mr. Massimiliano Paolucci and representatives of the International Finance Corporation, led by the regional manager of the International Finance Corporation, Mr. Ary Naim and the head of the office for Kosovo, Mr. Visar Perani.

In the meeting was discussed regarding the launch of a new project by the International Finance Corporation, which is related to the assessment of the situation in the microfinance and non-banking financial sector, as well as the necessary changes to reform this sector.

Governor Mehmeti informed the representatives of the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation about the developments in the financial sector in the country, also thanked them for the launch of the project and expressed the commitment and support of the Central Bank for the project.

World Bank Manager Mr. Paolucci and the regional manager of the International Finance Corporation Mr. Naim thanked Governor Mehmeti for the meeting and support, as well as informed him about the project and activities aimed at involving relevant stakeholders in the discussion, requests for sector reform, legal analysis and evaluation of the sector and the achievement of recommendations, which will be guiding and pushing decision makers to take the necessary steps to reform this very important sector.
