The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK), Mr. Ahmet Ismaili, held an important meeting with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Managing Director, Mr. Bo Li, and his team.

During the meeting, Governor Ismaili presented the latest developments in Kosovo’s economy, including the performance of the financial sector, financial stability, and progress in structural reforms. He expressed gratitude to the IMF leadership for the continued support in strengthening CBK’s institutional capacities and in the implementation of its mandate.

For his part, Mr. Bo Li recognized Kosovo’s progress in maintaining financial stability and successfully implementing IMF mission programs and recommendations, including the utilization of funds from the latest program. He emphasized the importance of close cooperation between the IMF and the CBK for economic development and the strengthening of the country’s financial system.

The discussion also covered opportunities to address recommendations from the updated Financial Sector Stability Review (FSSR), with a focus on financial stability mechanisms through a functional review of the operational framework.

The meeting reaffirmed the mutual commitment to deepen the institutional partnership between the CBK and the IMF, in support of achieving developmental objectives and sustainable economic growth in Kosovo.

The CBK delegation will continue bilateral meetings with senior representatives of the IMF and the World Bank during their stay in Washington, D.C.
