The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK), Mr. Ahmet Ismaili, accompanied by the Non-Executive Board Member Ms. Arta Hoxha, Deputy Governor Ms. Nesrin Shileku-Shala, and their associates, held a bilateral meeting with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission Chief for Kosovo, Mr. David Amaglobeli, and his team, as part of the IMF and World Bank 2025 Spring Meetings.

During the meeting, Governor Ismaili updated Mr. Amaglobeli on the latest macroeconomic and financial developments in Kosovo, as well as the status of reforms undertaken by the CBK aimed at fostering sustainable economic growth and strengthening the country’s financial system.

On his part, Mr. Amaglobeli shared the IMF’s views on global economic trends and their potential impact on Kosovo’s economy. He also commended the CBK for the reforms implemented in the financial sector and the enhancement of institutional capacities.

The meeting also included discussions on opportunities to expand cooperation between the IMF and the CBK in areas crucial to financial stability, as well as on the continued development of the CBK’s institutional and technical capacities, with the goal of further strengthening its role as a financial regulator and supervisor.

Both parties emphasized the importance of maintaining close cooperation between the IMF and the CBK, highly appreciating the progress made so far under the framework of IMF supported programs.

Governor Ismaili expressed his gratitude to Mr. Amaglobeli and his team for their constructive cooperation and the ongoing support the IMF has provided to the CBK, praising the professional commitment and strong inter-institutional partnership.
