A delegation of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosova (CBK), led by Governor Mr. Ahmet Ismaili, paid an official visit to the Croatian National Bank (HNB), where it was received by Vice-Governor Mr. Michael Faulend and his team.

During the meeting, discussions focused on the recovery and resolution function, with particular emphasis on the operationalization and further advancement of this function within the CBK, in line with best practices and international standards. The discussions also covered developments in the financial and banking sectors, ongoing reforms, and opportunities to further deepen cooperation between the two institutions in areas of mutual interest.

As part of the visit, the professional teams of the CBK and the HNB held technical meetings focused on the legal and institutional framework of resolution in Croatia and the European Union. The discussions addressed resolution planning and testing, the identification of critical functions, as well as requirements related to MREL. These meetings served as an important platform for exchanging experience and best practices in support of the consolidation of this function within the CBK.

Governor Ismaili also held a meeting with Deputy Governor Ms. Sandra Švaljek, with whom he discussed key developments in the banking sector, integration processes, and Croatia’s experience in advancing the institutional and regulatory framework in the European context.

Accompanied by members of the Croatian National Bank’s Management, Deputy Governor Švaljek and Vice Governor Faulend, Governor Ismaili visited the “Moneterra” Money Museum, where he was received by the Museum Director, Ms. Ines Merkl. During the visit, he was briefed on the historical development of Croatia’s financial and monetary system, including the country’s process of integration into the European Union and the euro area.

The delegation of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosova expressed its appreciation to the Croatian National Bank, its management and professional teams for their hospitality, close cooperation and valuable exchange of experience during this official visit.

Both institutions agreed to further expand cooperation in the area of recovery and resolution, in addition to their ongoing excellent cooperation in other areas of mutual interest, which was highly appreciated.
