The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, Ahmet Ismaili with his associates met the Deputy Ambassador of the German Federation in our country, who is also Head of the Economic Section, Mr. Matthias Conrad.

Governor Ismaili and Deputy Governor Dardan Fusha presented the plans of CBK in order to achieve the objectives and the Strategic Plan, adding that the financial system in the Republic of Kosovo is within the required legal and regulatory parameters.

During this meeting, Governor Ismaili informed Deputy Ambassador Conrad about the project for the integration of the Western Balkans in the SEPA payment scheme and the TIPS fast payments system.

Part of the discussions were also the challenges for membership in the Green Card for vehicles and the listing of the Republic of Kosovo on global payment platforms, for which was requested the support.

Governor Ismaili and Deputy Ambassador Conrad discussed increasing cooperation with German regulatory authorities, such as the Bundesbank and BaFin.

Deputy Ambassador Conrad expressed his willingness to support the CBK in realising the objectives and plans of the highest financial institution in the country, as foreseen by the constitutional and legal mandate.

In the end, Governor Ismaili expressed the gratitude of the institution he leads for the support provided by the German government, especially to the financial system, through numerous financial support programmes.
