Governor Ismaili of Kosovo, alongside his team, engaged in discussions with representatives from the Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA), the Swedish Embassy in Kosovo, and the Kosovo Credit Guarantee Fund (KCGF) to explore avenues for strengthening institutional cooperation.

Governor Ismaili highlighted the stability and resilience of Kosovo’s financial system, emphasizing the sector’s solid performance, including low non-performing loan rates and a high level of capitalization.

The meeting focused on bolstering credit accessibility for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), with the KCGF playing a pivotal role in providing credit guarantees to stimulate lending from local financial institutions. Various guarantee schemes offered by the KCGF aim to serve diverse market needs, ranging from standard loans to specialized windows for agriculture, energy efficiency, exports, women in business, and start-ups.

The governor expressed gratitude for SIDA’s support with credit lines through KCGF, which have significantly supported economic growth and the well-being of the citizens. Through specific credit guarantee windows, SIDA has enabled access to finance for different groups within society, which has created opportunities and enabled financial inclusion.

Governor Ismaili expressed optimism about the potential collaboration between CBK and Swedish institutions, aiming to foster economic growth and development in Kosovo. Such initiatives not only promote financial inclusion and access to finance but also contribute to the vibrancy of Kosovo’s financial ecosystem.
