Governor Ismaili held meetings with senior officials of the IMF and the World Bank in Marrakesh

The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK), Ahmet Ismaili, has held meetings with senior officials of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB).

During the participation in the annual meetings of the IMF and the WB, Governor Ismaili met the Vice President of the Europe and Central Asia Region at the World Bank, Ms. Antonella Bassani, the Deputy Managing Director of the IMF, Mr. Bo Li, and the Director of the European Department of the IMF, Mr. Alfred Kammer.

In these meetings that are being held in Marrakesh, Governor Ismaili has presented the development priorities of CBK, considering the maintenance of a sound financial system, the modernization of the payment system and the advancement of professional capacities for specific areas.

In the following days, there will also be meetings with Governors of central banks and other participating financial institutions, in addition to the signing of the agreement for membership in the “Reserve Advisory & Management Partnership” (RAMP) program of the World Bank Treasury.

The annual meetings will take place until October 14, bringing together central bankers, finance and economy ministers, parliamentarians, private sector executives, representatives from civil society organizations and academics, to discuss issues of global concern, such as the economic outlook, poverty eradication and economic development.
