A high-level delegation from the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK), led by Governor Ahmet Ismaili, held constructive discussions with Deputy Assistant Secretary of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Mr. Luyen Tran, and his team at the Technical Assistance office (OTA) in Washington D.C. The discussions aimed at strengthening cooperation and enhancing capacities.

In the meeting with the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Governor Ismaili expressed sincere gratitude for the invaluable technical assistance provided by OTA and their pivotal role in supporting the development of critical infrastructure.

This includes the Central Securities Depository System, establishment of liquidity facilities at the CBK, and successful collaboration on numerous other projects for banking and insurance supervision, as well as on the AML/CFT Framework, among others.

Additionally, new areas of cooperation and technical assistance were discussed, and CBK is looking forward to strengthening the cooperation further with the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

These engagements underscore the CBK’s commitment to fostering strong partnerships with key international stakeholders, furthering the institution’s mission of promoting financial stability and enhancing economic development in the Republic of Kosovo.
