The Governor of the Central Bank of Kosovo, Fehmi Mehmeti, and the Deputy Governor Sokol Havolli held a virtual meeting with the heads of the Kosovo Banking Association and representatives of commercial banks in Kosovo.

The topic of discussion at this meeting was the current situation in the banking sector and the contribution of this sector in overcoming the situation created, especially after new measures entered into force.

Governor Mehmeti said that the CBK is committed to creating all opportunities to help citizens and businesses, but at the same time to keep the banking sector stable and liquid, as it has been all this time, despite the many challenges brought by the pandemic.

On the other hand, the representatives of the banks expressed their readiness to help overcome this situation and to support the country’s economy considering that, although maintaining the country’s health remains a priority of the country, maintaining the economy’s health is also of great importance.
