The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosova (CBK) and Banque de France’s EDUCFI have signed a cooperation convention, institutionalising cooperation for the development and advancement of Financial Education in Kosovo. EDUCFI is the French National Financial Literacy Strategy, operated by the French central bank. All tools developed by Banque de France under EDUCFI are designed to be accessible, reliable, neutral, and free of charge, helping people understand financial matters more easily.

This agreement represents an important step toward achieving CBK’s strategic objectives of strengthening financial education, promoting financial inclusion, and enhancing citizens’ financial knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviours. It enables the adaptation of educational materials that will be used by the CBK in its financial education activities in Kosovo. It also creates opportunities for developing other forms of cooperation in the field of financial education, including the organisation of joint events, the exchange of best practices, and the implementation of educational and communication activities.

The partnership with Banque de France will contribute to expanding educational programmes and providing modern, high-quality materials for different categories of citizens, supporting the development of a more advanced financial culture in the Republic of Kosovo. The CBK considers that, in support of safeguarding financial stability in the country, investing in financial education is a long-term investment in empowering citizens, protecting consumers, increasing financial inclusion, and strengthening confidence in the financial system.

The cooperation in the field of financial education forms part of the strong institutional relations between the CBK and Banque de France, which include cooperation between the two central banks in other important areas, including the management of international reserves and assets, as well as the exchange of professional expertise in areas of mutual interest.
