The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosova (CBK), Mr. Ahmet Ismaili, accompanied by Deputy Governor Mr. Milot Cakaj and CBK associates, received in a meeting the Director of the Tax Administration of Kosovo (TAK), Mr. Mentor Hyseni, the Director of the Financial Intelligence Unit of Kosovo (FIU-K), Mr. Genc Rraci, as well as the Acting Chief Inspector of the Central Market Inspectorate (CMI), Mr. Florent Kuçi.

The meeting focused on strengthening inter-institutional cooperation on developments in the financial sector, with particular emphasis on maintaining the integrity of the financial sector, compliance with applicable legislation, with an emphasis on activities that require institutional attention and the promotion of fair competition in the market.

During the meeting, current developments in the financial and business sectors, the advancement of inter-institutional coordination, the exchange of information within legal frameworks, as well as the strengthening of cooperation in support of the effective implementation of the mandates and responsibilities of each institution were discussed. In this context, the importance of a coordinated institutional approach to addressing potential risks, strengthening supervision and supporting financial stability, the rule of law and the orderly functioning of the market was assessed.

A dedicated part of the discussion focused on the implementation of the Law on Crypto-Assets and the CBK regulations on licensing, regulation and supervision of crypto-asset-related activities. The parties discussed institutional actions related to the activity of financial entities in this field, the importance of compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as the need to ensure that only licensed activities operate in a manner that does not undermine financial integrity, consumer protection and fair competition.

The heads of institutions assessed that close inter-institutional cooperation, in accordance with independent mandates and relevant legal competencies, is essential for the effective implementation of legislation, protecting the integrity of the financial sector and strengthening market confidence. They also reiterated the importance of continuous coordination for the supervision of financial and business activities, as well as for ensuring a regulated, transparent and competitive environment.

At the meeting, it was agreed that the institutions should continue communication and professional cooperation, including the exchange of information and the coordination of actions within the legal framework, with the aim of supporting financial stability, market integrity and the full implementation of legislation in force in the Republic of Kosovo.
