The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK), Mr. Ahmet Ismaili, accompanied by Deputy Governor Mr. Milot Cakaj and colleagues, together with Ms. Shqipe Fazliu Devaja, Managing Director of the Deposit Insurance Fund of Kosovo (DIFK), hosted the experts of the World Bank (WB) Mission, led by Ms. Rekha Reddy with her team and joined by Ms. Jane Sprouster, WB Deputy Manager for Kosovo.

At the beginning of the meeting, Governor Ismaili updated the WB Mission experts on recent developments in the financial sector, CBK’s activities toward achieving its objectives and Strategic Plan, as well as the progress made in advancing CBK’s regulatory framework and technical infrastructure.

The main topics discussed with the Mission experts, staying in Kosovo from September 22-26, 2025, as part of the financial sector development projects – FinDev and FinSAC, included the projects status and presentation the results, the development of the instant payments project – TIPS Clone, including infrastructure and overlay services.

Furthermore, the meeting addressed the advancement of the legal and regulatory framework in the field of deposit insurance, as well as opportunities for cooperation with the World Bank to strengthen financial instruments that enhance resilience and financial stability, including the resolution fund and emergency liquidity. An important topic was also the CBK’s objectives in the field of insurance, consumer protection, and the development of the financial literacy strategy.

In conclusion, Governor Ismaili thanked the Mission and expressed appreciation to the WB for its support in capacity building and in implementing CBK’s strategic projects.

This meeting reflects the close cooperation between the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo and the World Bank, as well as the commitment to advance financial stability and modernize financial services in our country.
