CBK Governor Ahmet Ismaili participates in the Management Changeover Ceremony at the National Bank of Austria (OeNB)

The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK), Mr. Ahmet Ismaili, had the honor of attending the official ceremony marking the changeover of leadership at the National Bank of Austria (Oesterreichische Nationalbank – OeNB), from Governor Mr. Robert Holzmann to the newly appointed Governor Mr. Martin Kocher.

The high-level event brought together senior Austrian state officials, including the Federal Chancellor and the Minister of Finance, alongside representatives of international financial institutions, among them a Member of the Executive Board of the European Central Bank, and Central Bank’s governors from France, Slovenia, Kosovo, and Slovakia. The participation of attending governors was formally acknowledged, including that of Governor Ismaili.

The CBK and the OeNB share a longstanding partnership in the fields of financial stability, research, and capacity building, with a strong tradition of exchanging expertise and best practices. Both institutions also cooperate closely as part of the same constituency at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank Group, ensuring continuous dialogue and coordination at the international level. This collaboration was further highlighted when the CBK had the honor of hosting Governor Holzmann as the keynote speaker at its 25th anniversary ceremony last year.

On this occasion, Governor Ismaili expressed his gratitude for the excellent cooperation with the OeNB, underlining the importance of such partnerships in strengthening institutional capacities and advancing central bank mandates. He also conveyed his best wishes to Governor Kocher for a successful mandate, reaffirming the CBK’s commitment to deepen cooperation in support of regional financial stability, integration, and sustainable economic development.
