The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK), Mr. Ahmet Ismaili, together with his associates, received in an official visit the representatives of the National Bank of Austria (OeNB), led by Ms. Julia Wörz, Head of Section for Central, Eastern and Southeastern Europe.

The bilateral meeting took place in the spirit of excellent institutional cooperation between the two central banks at all leadership levels and aimed at further expanding this cooperation in technical and professional areas, sharing experiences, strengthening institutional capacities, and engaging in joint projects.

Praising the cooperation so far between the CBK and OeNB, Governor Ismaili informed the delegation of the National Bank of Austria about the latest developments in the banking sector, including reforms undertaken by the CBK in the areas of financial stability, macroprudential policy, strengthening financial supervision, financial system integrity, financial education, and improving access to safe finance.

The visit of the OeNB team continued with technical and professional-level meetings, chaired by Ms. Zana Gjocaj, Director of the Department for Financial Stability, Research, and Economic Analysis, and her team. These meetings focused particularly on financial stability, enhancing macro-modelling capacities, and sharing best practices in economic analysis and monetary policy approaches, in an environment that poses serious challenges for all central banks.

During the meeting, the possibility of CBK establishing a survey in the vein of the “OeNB Euro Survey” was also discussed. This survey serves as an important tool for understanding the financial behavior of citizens in the Western Balkan countries.

In conclusion, both parties agreed to further intensify their cooperation and identify new areas for technical support and expert exchange between the two institutions, upholding the high spirit of collaboration at all leadership levels.
