The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Fehmi Mehmeti received in a meeting the Minister of Finance, Labor and Transfers, Mr. Hekuran Murati.

In this meeting, Governor Mehmeti informed Minister Murati about the latest developments in the financial sector, namely in the banking sector, insurance and other financial sectors of the country, highlighting the further commitment of the CBK to help economic recovery and keep the financial sector stable and liquid.

Governor Mehmeti informed the Minister about the implementation of the recommendations arising from the latest reports of the European Commission and International Monetary Fund, with special emphasis on the actions taken by the CBK to harmonize the banking regulatory framework with the Basel III framework, price liberalization in the insurance market, as well as other issues related to the financial system in the country.

On the other hand, Minister Murati expressed interest in continuing the cooperation between the two institutions in order to overcome the situation created by the pandemic and further develop economic policies, aimed at economic development of the country.

In the end, Governor Mehmeti and Minister Murati agreed that the cooperation between the two institutions will continue in the future.
