Governor Mehmeti met with the leaders of the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency of Turkey

The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Fehmi Mehmeti, during his visit to Istanbul, Turkey met with the Head of the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency of Turkey, Mr. Mehmet Ali Akben.

Governor Mehmeti informed Mr. Akben regarding the latest developments in the financial system, which continues to be liquid and stable, as well as the commitment of the CBK for the further development of the banking sector and the country’s economy.

Also, Governor Mehmeti informed Mr. Akben regarding the situation of banks with Turkish capital, which operate in the banking sector of Kosovo.

The Governor thanked Mr. Akben for the support and cooperation so far, as well as expressed readiness and request for continued cooperation in the field of training and further development of CBK staff, participation in supervisory colleges and conducting joint examinations.

On the other hand, the Head of the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency of Turkey Mr. Mehmet Ali Akben, praised the achievements of the financial system of Kosovo so far and the commitment of the CBK for the advancement of the financial system, and expressed the commitment for further advancement of cooperation between the two institutions.
