Simultaneously, the remittances for August and the preliminary ones for September 2023 were published.

Other financial intermediaries

The assets of other financial intermediaries at the end of September 2023 have increased by 3.1 million euros compared to the previous month, reaching the value of 479.0 million euros.

The structure of the assets of the microfinance sector is dominated by loans, which make up 70.9% of the total assets.

Gross loans of other financial intermediaries in September 2023 marked the value of about 339.7 million euros, an increase of 5.4 million euros compared to the previous period.

Loans to households in September 2023 represent 62.4% of the total loans of the microfinance sector.

Insurance companies

The assets of insurance companies in September 2023 reached the value of 298.1 million euros, which represents an increase of 2.2 million euros compared to the previous month.

The structure of assets in the insurance sector consists of the balance sheet with commercial banks accounting for 46.3% securities and other assets accounting for 28.2% of assets while reinsurance accounts for 15.0% of total assets.

Pension Funds:

The assets of Pension Funds at the end of September 2023 have reached the value of 2.62 billion euros, which represents an increase of 8.34 million euros compared to the previous month.

The asset structure of the pension sector is dominated by equity securities that constitute 75.2% of total assets. Their value in September 2023 reached 1.97 billion euros, marking a decrease of 13.3 million euros compared to the previous month.

Remittances

According to preliminary estimates, remittances for the month of September were around 116.9 million euros. The largest flows during this month were through IFJB 57.4%, other channels 24.4%, while through banks 18.2%.

Remittances until the end of September 2023 reached the value of about 1,012.6 million euros, which represents an increase of 11% compared to the same period of 2022. Remittances mainly come from EU countries, about 70% of the total remittances, of which the Germany with 38.1% and is followed by Switzerland with 17.6% while from the USA around 7.5%.
