According to the publication calendar, the CBK has published the statistics of commercial banks for December 2023

Assets of commercial banks in December 2023 recorded an increase by EUR 333.8 million, or 5% compared to the previous month, thus, reaching a value of EUR 7.54 billion at the end of December 2023.

Investments of commercial banks abroad (in the form of deposits, securities and other placements) have increased by EUR 165 million, or 5.9% compared to the previous month, thus, reaching a value of EUR 1.26 billion at the end of December 2023.

Gross loans in December 2023 have marked an increase by EUR 27.8 million, or 0.57% compared to the previous month, thus, reaching a value of EUR 4.91 billion at the end of December 2023.

The value of new loans in December 2023 was EUR 193.7 million.

Client deposits in December 2023 increased by EUR 246.5 million, or 4% compared to the previous month. Out of the accumulated value of client deposits of EUR 6.13 billion at the end of December 2023, around 25% are time deposits. As per sectors, households dominate with about 66.3% of the total value of deposits (around EUR 4.06 billion).

The value of new deposits in December 2023 was EUR 138.8 million.

The loan-deposit ratio in December 2023 was 80.2%.

The total capital of commercial banks at the end of December 2023 reached EUR 863.0 million. Meanwhile, loan provisions increased by EUR 2.5 million or 13.4% compared to the previous month, thus, reaching a value of EUR 21.26 million.

The average interest rate on deposits in December 2023 was 3.14% (in November 2023 it was 2.43%).

The average loan interest rate in December 2023 was 6.35% (in November 2023 it was 6.40%).

The interest rate margin on loans and deposits in December 2023 was 3.2% (in November 2023 it was 3.9%).
