Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Ahmet Ismaili, along with his team, met with a delegation from Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW), led by Ms. Hille Henerby from Financial Sector and Economic Development – Southeast Europe and Turkyie, accompanied by Mr. Moritz Reme – Director of KfW Office Kosovo and North Macedonia and their team. The purpose of the meeting was to foster closer collaboration between the two institutions.

During the meeting, Governor Ismaili briefed the team of KfW on the recent developments of the financial sector, the ongoing CBK activities and other commitments based on the CBK’s five-year strategic plan, underscoring its dedication to the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) agenda. He highlighted CBK’s efforts to support the green financing, sustainability within the financial sector and its integration of ESG principles into CBK’s operations.

Furthermore, Governor Ismaili expressed the CBK’s appreciation to KfW and the German Federal Government institutions for their unwavering support across various areas. Specifically, he acknowledged KfW’s contributions to projects related to the Kosovo Credit Guarantee Fund, Kosovo Deposit Insurance Fund, as well as other initiatives aimed at bolstering employment and vocational training in Kosovo.

The discussion primarily focused on strengthening and expanding cooperation to facilitate new initiatives. Both parties emphasized the importance of collaborating with other institutions to undertake projects that reinforce the stability and resilience of the financial system.
