A delegation from the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK), led by Deputy Governor Mr. Dardan Fusha, participated in the Central Banking and Sovereign Wealth Forum at the Global Funding and Financing Summit (GFF), held at the European Convention Center in Luxembourg. This event brought together key players from the global financial industry to discuss advancements in payments, financial instruments, sovereign funds and financing, and reserve management.

During the visit, the CBK delegation held productive meetings with Mr. Philip Brown – Chief Executive Officer at Clearstream Banking SA, and other representatives of Clearstream, one of Europe’s leading financial instrument trading, settlement and custodian institutions. Discussions focused on establishing relationships through account opening to facilitate the CBK’s reserve management operations, enabling the effective management of financial instruments and collateral.

Deputy Governor Fusha and his team also held a meeting with Mrs. Claire Alexandre – International Government Relations at PayPal to explore potential collaborations that would enable PayPal services to be offered to Kosovo’s citizens and businesses. Both parties agreed that such a partnership would mark a significant step toward expanding access to international payments and promoting financial inclusion, and that they will work further to that end.

These meetings align with the CBK’s strategic objectives and commitments to advancing payment and financial instrument infrastructure, fostering integration with the European Single Market, and promoting the digitalization of financial services in line with global standards and technological developments.
