The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo (CBK), Mr. Ahmet Ismaili, held a meeting with the first Czech Republic Ambassador to Kosovo, H. E. Bohumil Mazánek, who was accompanied by the Deputy Head of Mission, Ms. Kálmán.

During the meeting, Governor Ismaili briefed Ambassador Mazánek on key developments and reforms in the financial sector, the advancement of the legal and regulatory framework, emphasizing financial stability and the sector’s strong performance.

He also informed the Ambassador about the organization, functioning, and mandate of the CBK as an independent constitutional institution, highlighting its institutional capacities and excellent cooperation with international financial institutions, central banks, and regulatory and supervisory authorities in the region and the European Union.

Furthermore, the CBK Governor informed the Ambassador about the pre-application process for membership in the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) at the European Commission, as well as the project for advancing and modernizing the payment system, as relevant initiatives in achieving CBK’s objectives and Strategic Plan.

Governor Ismaili also expressed CBK’s gratitude to the institutions of the Czech Republic through the European Union institutions, for their continued support in strengthening the integrity of Kosovo’s financial system.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties agreed to explore opportunities for cooperation in areas of public interest between our respective institutions.
