Governor Ismaili participates in the International Economic Conference organized by KASA and ASA

Under the organization of the Kosovo Academy of Sciences and Arts (KASA) and the Academy of Sciences of Albania (ASA), the international conference “Challenges and perspectives of economic cooperation Kosovo-Albania and the region” is being held in Prishtina.

In his welcoming speech, the Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, Ahmet Ismaili, said that the CBK follows with particular focus all inter-state cooperation agreements, in particular economic ones, which help to increase inter-sector cooperation, market integration as well as regional integration processes and beyond.

“The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo has a genuine cooperation with the central banks of the countries of the region and beyond, and in particular with the Bank of Albania and the Financial Supervision Authority, which are counterpart institutions of the CBK”, said Governor Ismaili.

Governor Ismaili added that cooperation with the Kosovo Academy of Sciences and Arts will be developed, in the scientific and research discussion platforms, as well as the expansion of cooperation with the Bank of the Republic of Albania, in achieving common objectives.
“It is evident that this cooperation should be expanded and advanced in the future in several areas related to financial education, financial inclusion and modalities that facilitate and stimulate the movement of capital, people and motor vehicles”, added the head of the CBK.

In the end, Governor Ismaili demonstrated that CBK is engaged in regional cooperation and financial integration initiatives, of common interest to our countries and people.

“We are engaged together with BoA in several regional cooperation initiatives, such as the project for the modernization of payment systems in the six countries of the Western Balkans, aiming to reduce the cost and increase the speed of payments/transfers between these countries, as well as between us and the European Union”, concluded Governor Ismaili.

For two days in a row, 6 and 7 October, this international scientific conference is being held in the premises of KASA, where academicians, university professors and leaders of political and financial institutions are participating.
