Governor Ismaili meets the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Kosovo, Lulzim Rafuna

The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Ahmet Ismaili, received the President of the Chamber of Commerce of Kosovo (CCK), Mr. Lulzim Rafuna, with whom he discussed the main developments of the financial sector, the CBK plans and expansion of cooperation in areas of joint contribution.

At this meeting, the interlocutors discussed about the expansion of cooperation in terms of measurements and research of various indicators in the economy, the exchange of reports and results in order to address the main aspects, as well as orientations in the sustainable financial and economic development of the country.

Governor Ismaili informed the President of the CCK about the CBK’s Strategic Plan, with an emphasis on the expected developments in streamlining of the instant payment system, which will contribute to the facilitation of transactions, with lower costs as well as efficiency, which in turn contributes to the fight against the informal economy.

Access to finance, including sustainable finance, developments on the capital market, financial literacy and consumer protection, the arbitration mechanism, challenges in listing the Republic of Kosovo on international payment platforms, were among the topics discussed at the meeting.

Also, the interlocutors discussed about the current events regarding the fight against counterfeit money, namely the measures and actions undertaken so far in the short term. Views were also exchanged on how this joint struggle can be further advanced, within the legal mandates through cooperation between the state institutions, but also the private sector.

In the end, the parties agreed on a continuous dialogue with the aim of exchanging information, ideas and publications, as well as other cooperations to the benefit of the economy, bearing in mind that the Chamber of Commerce of Kosovo is a public institution, with a wide membership and scope that are legally regulated.
