The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo marks the beginning of the activities of the International Money Week

The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo has opened the International Money Week, an activity which is now traditionally celebrated in Kosovo.

In front of the students of the “Sami Frashëri” High School, the Governor, Mr. Fehmi Mehmeti, spoke about the role of the CBK in Financial Education, contributing to informing and raising the knowledge of citizens, with the aim of improving their knowledge about the economic and financial concepts, products, services offered by the financial sector and creating habits to make appropriate choices and take effective actions to improve their financial well-being.

According to Governor Mehmeti, this helps reduce the risk of financial crises and maintain the stability of the financial system.

“CBK will continue to be focused with the aim to advance the field of financial education, in order to contribute to the increase of knowledge, transparency and information of citizens and in particular consumers of financial products and services. Also, we will continue to cooperate with local and international financial institutions in order to, through this function, be as close as possible to the citizens”, said Governor Mehmeti.

In the discussion held at the CBK, students have asked various questions about the financial sector and the role of the CBK in the economy of Kosovo.

At the opening of the International Money Week, CBK has announced an Essay competition on the theme of this week’s motto; “Plan Your Money, Plant Your Future”, which will remain open until April 30, 2023, where the seven best Essays will win 7 prizes.

CBK, since 2013, is part of this organization, which is led by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), and in which 176 countries of the world participate and over 50 million students and young people from countries of different parts of the world.

During this week, CBK will organize various lectures with students from several municipalities of the country and from different communities.
