The Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo has been part of the annual meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, which this year were organized remotely due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

During these meetings, which were held from 15 to October 22, 2020, Governor Mehmet took part in the meeting of the Constituency of the International Monetary Fund, part of which is Kosovo as well.

Also, Governor Mehmeti had a meeting with the Vice President of the World Bank, Anna Bjerde and her team, where they discussed the latest macroeconomic developments in Kosovo, as well as requests for technical assistance.

On this occasion, Governor Mehmeti informed the Vice President of the World Bank, regarding the financial system in the country and the measures taken by the CBK during the pandemic.

During these virtual meetings, Governor Mehmeti and representatives of the CBK participated in the meeting of the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund, which was held with the ministers and governors of Central and Eastern Europe.

In this meeting, in addition to presenting the European economic perspective, the challenges and policies related to responding to the effects of Covid 19 were also discussed.

CBK representatives attended as well in the plenary meeting of the International Monetary Financial Committee of the International Monetary Fund, where were discussed various topics related to addressing the pandemic, the promotion of sustainable comprehensive recovery and revival of global cooperation.
