According to the publication calendar, the CBK published the commercial banks’ statistics for the month of February 2024

Commercial banks’ assets amounted 7.4 billion euros at the end of February 2024, marking an increase of 29.9 million euros, or 0.4% compared to the previous month.

Commercial banks’ investments abroad (in the form of deposits, securities, and other placements) amounted 1.2 billion euros at the end of February 2024, a decrease of 36.6 million euros, or 3%, from the previous month.

Gross loans at the end of February reached the value of 4.95 billion euros, marking an increase of 60.4 million euros, or 1.2% compared to the previous month.

The value of new loans in February 2024 was 172.2 million euros.

Customer deposits in February 2024 amounted 6.0 billion euros, an increase of 12.3 million euros, or 0.2%, from the previous month. Term deposits account for approximately 26.6% of the accumulated value of customer deposits. According to sector, households account for approximately 67.5% of the total value of deposits (about 4.1 billion euros).

The value of new deposits in February 2024 was 78.7 million euros.

The loan-deposit ratio in February 2024 was at the level of 82.4%.

The total capital of commercial banks at the end of February 2024 was 894.1 million euros. Meanwhile, loan provisions were reduced by 0.4 million euros, or 0.3%, from the previous month, amounting 144.5 million euros.

The average interest rate on deposits in February 2024 was 2.89% (2.74% in January 2024).

The average loan interest rate in February 2024 was 6.34% (6.38% in January 2024).

The interest rate margin on loans and deposits in February 2024 was 3.5% (3.6% in January 2024).
