In December 2023, the CBK assets reached the value of 1.64 billion euros, marking a decrease of 127.2 million euros compared to the previous month, mainly as a result of the reduction of the balance of government assets (by 335.2 million euros) on the one hand and the increase of Pension Fund deposits (126.2 million euros), PAK (1.1 million euros), commercial banks (by 67 million euros), as well as non-financial public corporations (by 3.3 million euros).

Of the total assets, the value of investments in deposits and securities abroad on 31 December 2023 amounted to 1.17 billion euros. During December 2023, compared to November 2023, the CBK’s investments abroad in the form of deposits and securities decreased by 51.7 million euros, as a result of the decrease in investments in deposits of 71.1 million euros and the net increase of securities in the amount of 19.4 million euros.

On 30 December 2023, the CBK deposits amounted to 1.36 billion euros, of which 364.4 million euros were from the Central Government, 590.5 million euros from commercial banks and 166.4 million euros from PAK and 241 million euros from others.

At the end of December 2023, the assets of the international reserve marked an amount of 1.13 billion euros, which is 255 million euros lower than in the previous month. The reduction of foreign deposits for 211 million euros and investments in securities for 44 million euros contributed to this decrease.
