According to the press release dated March 4, 2011, the Panel, based on the evaluation criteria defined earlier, published a short list of three (3) candidates.
According to the letter and legal interpretation of the International Civilian Office (ICO), (based on the authority specified in Article 2.2 d Annex IX for the Comprehensive Proposal for Kosovo Status Settlement of March 26, 2007) dated March 10, 2011, sent to the Panel for nomination of the CBK Governor, the short list of candidates published on March 4, 2011 has been reduced. According to the ICO interpretation, Mr. Gazmend Luboteni is considered as not meeting the formal requirements to be appointed under Article 18.6 of the previous Law on the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo No. 03/L-074 and Article 38.1 of the Law on the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo No. 03/L-209, which provides that a Board member may not serve more than a maximum total period of 10 years on the Board of the Central Bank.
Therefore, the Panel for the nomination of the CBK Governor, in accordance with Article 38. Paragraph 2 of the Law on the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, shall forward to the Assembly of the Republic of Kosovo and the Government, the ranking list of nominees to fill the position of Governor of the CBK, as follows:
