The Governor of the Central Bank of the Republic of Kosovo, Fehmi Mehmeti, met with the Chief Executive Officer of the Kosovo Energy Corporation, Nagip Krasniqi.

In this meeting they discussed about the modalities through which the CBK will be able to assist KEK to easier overcome the energy emergency situation.

As a result, Governor Mehmeti informed Mr. Krasniqi that the CBK will take a decision not to apply negative rates on KEK deposits held in CBK, instead these costs with international banks will be borne by the CBK itself.

On the other hand, the Chief Executive Officer of KEK, Mr. Krasniqi, thanked Governor Mehmeti for his willingness to help in coping with the difficulties they are facing.

Also, both parties have agreed to continue with the cooperation between the two institutions in the areas of common interest.
